  • 2017-2018 Summer Transition Program

    HCECHS in partnership with RCCC hosted the 2017-2018 Freshman Summer Transition Program. Most of the incoming freshman attended the session and learned valuable information about Life at HCECHS. HCECHS is so excited to welcome all of our new students!

  • RCCC will host ACT Prep Course

    July 10-13 and July 17-20 from 9am-1pm Roanoke Chowan Community College will hold an ACT Prep Course. The cost is $25 each week. The first week will focus on Reading/Writing and the second week will focus on Math. This is a great opportunity for students. Please click article to find out how to register.

  • HCECHS participates in Gardening Workshop in partnership with RCCHC and Cooperative Extension

    Gardening Workshop held by RCCHC, Cooperative Extension, and the Garden Stewards in the garden at HCECHS/RCCC. It was the last in a series of six workshops. Pictured are JaBria Lassiter, Raquan Leary, Anaya Outlaw, Jamie Earley, Lindsey Stallings, and Braxton Williams, who, along with Drake Clinton, Kaylee Stroud, Raya Sessoms, and Dylan Edwards, are the Garden Stewards who will be taking care of the gardens at ECHS, HCHS, and Bearfield this summer.

  • HCPS Summer Food Services

    Hertford County Public Schools are participating in the Summer Food Service Program. The program is federally funded and is designed to provide free and nutritious meals during the summer. All children 18 years of age or under may receive a free meal; breakfast, lunch or both at one of the two sites in the county. The sites are: Riverview Elementary School, Breakfast 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.; Bearfield Primary School, Breakfast 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.; Riverview Elementary School and Bearfield Primary School will operate June 26th through June 30th and July 3rd until July 31st, Monday-Thursday and is closed on Fridays. Both schools closed on July 4th for the holiday. The Summer Food Service Program is an Equal Opportunity Program. Discrimination is prohibited regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability. Meals are free to all students 18 of age and under. Adults (19 and older) pay a la carte breakfast and lunch prices. For further information contact Patrice Scott, Director of Child Nutrition/Food Services at 252-358-8548.

  • Health Information Needed for Pre-K and Kindergarten Students as Well as New Students to NC Public Schools

    Parents may pick up health assessment forms at the schools. Also assessment forms will be available at the Hertford County Board of Education Administrative Office in the Student Services Department. Please click for more information.

  • Attention Parents of Current 6th Graders/Rising 7th Graders

    Attention students entering 7th grade for the 2017-18 school year must have proof of the following immunizations within the first 30 days of the new school year: Tdap booster Meningoccal vaccine. Please contact your health care provider or the local health department as soon as possible to get these immunizations completed. You may contact your school's nurse for any additional information.

  • School Bus Drivers to Use New Hand Signals; Requirement Helps Boost Student Safety

    Beginning Jan.1, all North Carolina public school bus drivers will be required to use hand signals to help students safely cross the road to board the bus. The North Carolina State Board of Education approved this revision to its bus safety policy at its July meeting.
