Ms. Sarah Davis, Department Chair
Sarah Davis is a 1991 graduate of Hertford County High School. She graduated as valedictorian and then attended North Carolina State University as a NC Teaching Fellow. She graduated from NC State with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She returned home to teach at HCHS in 1995. She serves as department chair, SIT chair, Power Teacher champion, Parent Portal contact, and NCEES contact. She was proud to represent HCHS as Teacher of the Year for 2018-2019 and 2023-2024. Ms. Lelia Futrell
Mrs. Lelia Futrell has been teaching at Hertford County High School for the past twenty-seven years. She received her teaching credential from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC. Her passion is teaching, inspiring and challenging children to love learning. Mrs. Futrell considers herself to be an organized, hard-working, and self-motivated teacher who puts great effort into preparing lessons while using multiple teaching strategies to keep her students focused and interested. She is dedicated to helping your child learn! Her family includes two daughters, a son, and five grandchildren. She looks forward to a great year teaching your children. Parents are always valued and welcomed in her classroom. Her philosophy is to provide an interesting, challenging, learning environment where students will flourish socially and academically. Mr. Rolland Hunter
Mr. Hunter teaches Math II at Hertford County High School. He is in his 22nd year in the teaching profession. Mr. Hunter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Norfolk State University.
