Substitute Teaching

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute!  In order to serve as a substitute, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Be a retired teacher, who has not worked for at least 6 months, and has a current teaching license.
  2. Be a retired assistant teacher from HCPS who has not worked for at least 6 months.
  3. High School Diploma, complete Effective Teacher Training, and provide a Character Reference Letter from someone you are not related to

All substitutes must complete the substitute application and attend the district orientation annually.
