SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium: This is a consortium that will create the assessment aligned with the New Common Core Standards.  The state of North Carolina will use the assessment created by this consortium which will supplant our current EOG/EOC accountability system. Parents will find sample questions for English Language Arts and Math linked to this website.

Parent Video Resource for Supporting Your Child with Literacy: 

Wake County Curriculum and Instruction Department has produced these eleven short videos to give parents some tips about how best to support their children as they develop into strong readers. Each video is one to three minutes long, and can be viewed using the free QuickTime Reader from Apple.
