Digital Learning Standards

Hertford County Public Schools believes that responsible use of technology is pertinent to our students having the ability to compete at a global level. Technology and Media Education in HCPS is based upon the North Carolina Digital Learning Standards provided by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.  These standards were adopted from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards. The standards help to foster age-appropriate skills that our students need to safely and successfully immerse themselves in technology both in and out of the classroom.

Educators in Hertford County Public Schools have access to a plethora of technology resources and professional learning opportunities, including instructional technology topics that they identify based upon feedback. In addition, HCPS provides teachers with "Just in Time" self-paced learning resources for teachers to ensure that teachers have access to resources supporting digital teaching and learning.
