Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Annual Opt-Out Option
Parents and eligible students have the right to opt-out of sharing directory information. More information about your FERPA rights may be viewed at this link: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 USC § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99). If you would like to opt out of any release of any directory information, a written notice should be sent to your principal within 30 days of the start of the school year. For students transferring into the school system after the start of the school year, notice should be sent to the principal within 30 days of the transfer. Your request should specify whether you are opting out of all disclosures or only disclosures of certain information or certain parties.
