Feedback for School and District Improvement Plans

As stated in G.S. 115C-105.37, the NC State Board of Education shall identify low-performing schools annually. Low-performing schools are those receiving a school performance grade of D or F and a school growth score of "met expected growth" or "not met expected growth" as defined by G.S. 115C-83.15.

These schools must develop an improvement plan that specifically addresses how they intend to improve both the school performance grade and the school growth score. In addition, low-performing schools are required to notify parents of the school's status and allow for written comments on the school improvement plan. The plans must be approved by the local Board of Education.
