Mrs. Scott teaches eleventh- and twelfth- grade English at ECHS. She received a BA in English from Hampton University, M.Ed. in Education- Teaching and Learning- from Liberty University, and is currently pursuing another masters degree in School Counseling from Salem College.  She has been an educator since 1999 and has developed a love for teaching, supporting, encouraging, and advocating for her students. In addition to teaching, she is the head cheerleading coach at Chowan University. Mrs. Scott enjoys reading, shopping, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ms. Smyth teaches ninth-and tenth-grade English at ECHS. She also works with the Farm to School to Healthcare initiative, which funds our Community Garden, and the Tar River Writing Project, and she advises the Writing Center and Video Game Club. Ms. Smyth loves to read and write and has a room full of books, craft materials, garden tools, circuit boards, and just about anything you can think of, which she likes to think makes her eclectic, rather than eccentric.
