Mrs. Jacqueline Manley is from Ahoskie, N. C.  She graduated from Elizabeth City State University in 1986 as an honor graduate.  Her major was Elementary Education/Middle Grades with a concentration in Mathematics. In 2007, she received her Master Degree in Education with a concentration for students with mild/moderate disability from Cambridge University in Chesapeake, Virginia.  She taught for 19 years at Rich Square-Creecy Elementary School in Northampton County.  Presently working in Hertford County, she has taught for four years at Riverview Elementary School and working on her fifth year at Hertford County High School.  At Hertford County High School, she is a Math Inclusion Teacher with Math 3 (Algebra 2) and Advance Function/Modeling classes.  For the past years, she has also assisted with Math ALP students and exceptional students at CS Brown High School, working as homebound teacher in the afternoon, assists with Odysseyware online course recovery program, and a mentor at HCHS.  Gladly to say, she assists with the HCHS Team for Women in Mathematics hosted by Elizabeth City State University and the Regional Math Competition at Chowan University. Her passion is teaching and advising students to set their goals high to become successful individuals in their community.  Her motto: “Every child can learn”. Mrs. Darlene Mason

Mrs. Darlean S. Mason has been happily married to Elliott Mason Sr. of Mufreesboro, NC for 39 years. She is also the mother of 5 children and 3 grandchildren. She is a graduate of RCCC and Shaw University. She has been a teacher for 20 years and currently serves as an Exceptional Teacher at Hertford County Public School whereby she has been employed for 5 years. She has previously served as a Teacher at CADA Headstart, and EC Teacher at Northampton County Public Schools. She has attend Roanoke- Chowan Community College(Applied Associates Early Childhood) AA 1989,  Shaw University( Bachelor of Arts-  in  Sociology) -BA 1999-2003 and attended Barton College, East Carolina,  Elizabeth City,and Phoenix University online, as part of my course of study to receive my Certification,as an EC Teacher. Mrs. Mason is also a part-time Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Autism Society Club at Hertford County HS and a Member of the Shaw University Alumni Society. Ms. Timothy Pharr is a graduate of East Carolina University where she was captain of the Women’s Swim team. Ms. Pharr has a Double Undergraduate, Exceptional children’s degree, and a Masters in School Counseling.  She joined the HCHS team in 2011.  Ms. Pharr is in charge of “Project Prom” and the “Paws” club here at HCHS.  Ms. Pharr is a native of Washington County and currently resides in Albemarle Beach, N.C. Ms. Pharr has had many careers including commercial fishing, which she misses very much. She is a swimming and sailing instructor.  Ms. Pharr has taught over 1,000 people to swim in the last 45 years and trained hundreds of lifeguards.  Her hobbies are collecting antiques, writing a cookbook, collecting vintage toys, and old fishing items. She loves swimming, water aerobics, sailing, oystering, water running, and shrimping.  She also enjoys her animal rescues and spending time with her son “Beau”.

Mrs. Takeyla Taylor

Takeyla Hall Taylor is a native of Aulander, NC and a graduate of Hertford County High School. Mrs. Taylor earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Elizabeth City State University. Takeyla Taylor is a first year Exceptional Children’s Math Instructor. Mrs. Taylor comes to Hertford County High School with eight years of Mental Health Case Management experience and is actively pursuing her Master’s degree in Special Education Curriculum K-12.
