Dr. Jacqueline Perry-Higgs Appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer of HCPS

Photo of Dr. Perry-Higgs May 22, 2023 – The Board of Education has approved the naming of the Chief Human Resources Officer on Monday, May 22, 2023, at their regularly scheduled board meeting.

 

Dr. Perry-Higgs brings an impressive educational background and a wealth of experience to her new role. She is a distinguished North Carolina State University (NCSU) NELA program graduate, holding a doctorate in educational leadership. Her commitment to education is further evident through attaining two Master's degrees, one in Curriculum and Instruction from NCSU and another in Educational Leadership from East Carolina University.

With a strong foundation in education, Dr. Perry-Higgs has dedicated 25 years to the field, serving in various capacities. Her experience includes roles as an elementary and middle school teacher, beginning teacher mentor, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, curriculum specialist, AIG coordinator, director of curriculum and instruction, director of testing and accountability, and student information system coordinator. Her diverse background positions her well for the challenges and responsibilities of the CHRO position.


Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Perry-Higgs is known for her dedication to family and personal interests. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, exploring new travel destinations, and showcasing her culinary skills.

HCPS welcomes Dr. Jacqueline Perry-Higgs to her new role as Chief Human Resources Officer and looks forward to her leadership and contributions to fostering a positive work environment for the district's dedicated staff.
